For your stay at the Hotel Sonne in Gengenbach

Arrival

Our hotel restaurant is located in the old town of Gengenbach. We have compiled tips for your arrival on the Location & Arrival page.

Breakfast

Our Black Forest breakfast buffet will delight you! Breakfast hours are from 7:00 - 10:00 am during the week, on 7:30 - 10:00 am on the weekends.

Celebrations & events

We have a total of three cozy rooms for your celebration. Contact us for more information.

Check-in

You can check into your room from 2 pm on the day of arrival. Earlier on request, if necessary.

Check-out

Please vacate your room by 11 a.m. on the day of departure. We kindly request you to settle your bill the evening before your departure.

Closing times

We are closed on Thursdays. In the low season (January to March and November) and during the summer vacation time, our restaurant is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Our restaurant is closed on these days. The reception desk is partially staffed.

Dinner

You will enjoy very good cuisine with regional and Mediterranean specialties in a rustic and cozy atmosphere in the Sonne Restaurant. Please make your reservation early. A 4-course surprise menu with corresponding wines is included if you book the Sonne offer. Our kitchen is open for you on five evenings (except Wednesdays and Thursdays) from 5:30 - 9:00 pm as well as for lunch (see Lunch).

Dogs

We like dogs, but for hygienic reasons we are a pet-free hotel, as our rooms are carpeted. However, you are welcome to bring your four-legged friend with you when you visit our restaurant.

Event location

With our "Sonnenstube" a new, friendly room is available for your family or company celebration, equipped with screen and digital projector. So you can spice up your celebration with a photo show or video performance.

Guest card / Konuskarte

With the Black Forest guest card, the Konuskarte, you have free travel on buses and trains during your stay (except ICE, IC, EC and mountain railroads). In addition, you cav visit recreational facilities at a reduced price, in some cases even free of charge.

Half board

If you wish, you can book half board with your room.

Internet

Free WiFi is available in all rooms. You can get the access code at the reception desk.

Lunch

You can enjoy very good regional dishes and Mediterranean specialties in a rustic and cozy atmosphere at the Sonne restaurant. Please make your reservation early. Our kitchen is open for you every midday from 11:30 am - 2 pm, except Thursdays. In the low season (January to March and November) and during the summer vacation time, our restaurant is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
